Encryption?!? Since when is Base64 an encryption scheme?

HTTP authentication is not about "security", whatever that means. It is, as the name subtly implies, about authentication.


If you want to secure your communication channel, you run it over TLS or whatnot.

etc, etc, etc.

Care to elaborate about those many etceteras?
