The director of my company is from the other side of the Great Divide, being
Microsoft Solutions Providers, and he observed that whatever Apple think of
WebObjects themselves, the framework sells product of the kind that Apple is
most interested in.

Specifically, for every WO app, they sell the modest value of one licence
per server, one Mac per developer and the possibility of an Xserve. In
short: WO sells Apple hardware.
