Jacky,

Good point. Maybe I should have installed WO 5.2.4 before Java 1.5. I didn't try that. The only problem seems to be with symbol lookup in the XCode documentation. I actually need both WebObjects and Java 1.5 for my work.

thanks,

XCode 2.0 symbol indexing seems to be very fragile. Because of it I performed a clean install and everything was okay, but since I installed WebObjects 5.2.4 it is once again broken. I used to be able to lookup Java symbols in XCode's documentation window. Now when I click on a Java symbol, the documentation does not appear. Also, there is no WebObjects symbol lookup. Cocoa symbol lookup seems okay. When I run pbhelpindexer I get errors.

Here is the order of my installation.
- Archive install Mac OS X 10.4
- Install Developer tools (everything)
- Install Java 1.5
- Install Java 1.5 documentation	(at this point symbol lookup is fine)
- Install WebObjects 5.2
- Install WebObjects 5.2.4 upgrade

Now Java API symbol lookup is broken and there is no WebObjects API symbol lookup.
I then performed a pbhelpindexer under sudo and after a few minutes of no feedback I see a string of errors. This operation didn't fix anything.

Has anyone been able to get symbol lookup to work for the Java API and WebObjects API? If so, what is the trick?
