@sum and operation

Hi list, keep working on my shopping cart, I was wondering if I could mix both @sum and an operation like (assuming cartList contains item objects) item.quantity()*item.price()? Searching the documentation, I have found the following interface: NSArray.operator, but I'm really not confident with this... at least without an example I'm really bad:(
