I'm using PostgreSQL with great success now in a few new (with the Plugin from Wonder) and I'm pretty happy with it. It's very fast, very stable and with the Wonder plugin it "just works"

Forgot this: We also use FrontBase in some projects with heavy load and we are mostly happy. For us it handles the load well, it is very easy to manage and the support is great.

We had some issues in the past, but they are mostly solved by FrontBase.
