I find this very useful as well -- it is easier to "globally control" specific formats and stuff if the date and time formatters are session-supplied.

You may like to check out the section "0.4.10" which is "Validation and Components" in my LEWOStuff PDF. It may give you some ideas about managing the storage and rendering of validation failures in your own application. You can download the framework with this PDF in from my website.
