Thanks all, the defaults delete worked. I tried the permissions
thing, but then again I had just checked it out from Subversion and
didn't think that would be a problem. I'm also seeing the UTF-8 issue
occasionally, but found lot's of posts on that, so no worries. Thanks
again to everyone, and I'll take back the Struts/Hibernate comment;-)

There was a bug with WOBuilder and UTF-8 (or other) encodings when
they brought out WO 5.3, but I thought this was solved?!
It may be that the bug remains: WOBuilder deletes the old
(outdated) component, tries to save the new, fails and uuuups -
the component is gone ...
But nevertheless - I thought this was solved long ago?!
