WebObjects can be deployed on anything for free. If you have a
problem on your Linux, etc deployment, try it on OS X, and if it fails
- you can still get support.

Jean,
I suspect the mentality is that you can still use WO on any of the
normal platforms, but if you develop & distribute on the Mac then
you get to do it for free.
Can't really complain about this in absolute terms, because there's
the same level of support as there was a year ago (for PC users),
but now there's an even better deal – if you have a Mac, that is.

I thank you for answering, Ray.
I am surprised as Apple seems to not believes in this product.
Developping on
Mac don't bother me as I am fond of NextStep I bought and
developped on it long
time ago.
The problem is that if I take this solution for a development, I
naturally need
to be able to garantee my client that it will work on HIS system .
The
development machine would be confortable for me. If I can't deploy
on nanosoft
systems, what to do but refuse this wonderful WebObject technology.
Too Bad!
Thank you again.
Best regards.

Selon Ray Ackland <email@hidden>:
Jean,
While the exact details will be more complicated, I believe a
reasonable summary would be the following:
The latest version of WO (5.3) development comes free with OS X, and
deployment comes free with OS X Server.
If you wish to deploy / develop on other platforms, you can purchase
WO 5.2.4. I believe you can also deploy the latest WO with the
"other
platforms" but you have to do some jiggling with licensing issues
and
Apple won't be offering you any support if you have problems.
Ray.

Does somebody would kindly explain me if I misunderstood the
technical data
sheet and only the developpement tools are MacOS X, or the
deployement too is
now specificaly MacOS X?
