Big deal.

- EntityModeler, a good, full featured replacement for EOModeler, is part of WOLips. A lot of new stuff in there, too.
- WOComponent Editor, a good replacement for WOBuilder, is part of WOLips. Its not graphical, but has validation that actually makes sense.
- RuleModeler, a much enhanced RuleEditor, is now part of project Wonder.
- WebServicesAssistant, is mainly java, you can simply copy over a normal startup script and the WOBootstrap.jar to the APPROOT/ and APPROOT/Contents/MacOS directories.

You can use Eclipse without the actual java development, but unless you are using IDEA or some other reasonable IDE you'd be pretty brain- dead to do so.

As for the others:
- WOALauncher: has anyone *ever* used this thing except by accident??
- EOModeler Plugin: oh, my. I just wish the time that went into this would have been used where it actually made sense

The only thing that makes me a bit miffed is: why make WO part of the tools, when it's exactly the tools you deprecate a year later. Without Mike's outstanding work on the WOComponent Editor and EntityModeler and King Chung Huang's and mine on the RuleModeler we would all look pretty stupid right now.

Cheers, Anjo

I did notice this in the publicly release Xcode 2.4 release:

NOTE: As of the release of Xcode 2.4, the Cocoa Java bridge has been deprecated. This means that,
while still supported with Xcode 2.4, future releases of Xcode may not support the bridge or other
dependent features. Due to this, the following additional WebObjects developer applications are also
being deprecated:

EOModeler
EOModeler Plugin
WebObjects Builder
WebServices Assistant
RuleEditor
WOALauncher

I hope this means the built-in editor in Xcode is all good now...
