Aww...come on! Everyone needs to use something awful...better PHP than .NET/ASP/*!*

At least you go back to WO and just blush at its relative elegance.

Each to their own poison I guess.

Well said!

Including RoR pre-installed is just good business sense for Apple, not The End of WO. Apple wants to sell machines. Lots of people want RoR. Hence, make a better platform for their customers by pre- installing it. I am happy to see them pre-installing more of these sorts of tools, that does NOT mean I intend to play with PHP. :-)

I think that we will have to wait until Thursday and Friday's WO sessions to be certain - and then not be able to talk about it due to the WWDC NDA.

However, the message is clear: Apple has desktop (Carbon/Cocoa) and non-desktop (choose your poison .. WO RoR .. PHP ..). WO is clearly non-desktop and Java so let it all be java and get rid of that bastardized code that they have been dragging around for the last half decade+ ie. the Obj-C/Java bridge.

I think that the WOlips team has done some great work and most WO developers use it with Eclipse. Apple, I think, sees the rest of the tool set moving over to Eclipse or other open tools. Short of opening the whole code, making it free and letting us use our tools of choice (from vi / emacs to home grown or commercial Eclipse plug- in) seems like a good strategy to me.

Hi Anjo,

Yes I did; but EntityModeler appears to be part of WOLips - a 3rd party tool. But I was wondering what Apple provides as a valid replacement. Or does Apple include WOLips now? Thanks, Dennis.

So how will you be able to edit your EOModels in the future? Will there be a replacement?
