eg. ERXNavigation from Project Wonder.

I have looked at this component already and it appears to be intended for basic hierarchal pagewrapper style side/topbar navigation.

However, what I am talking about doing is an actual expanding/ collapsing node based tree that loads in one frame, while displaying the corresponding view/edit/list detail for the selected node in a different frame, like EOModeler's "Table Mode" view, or MS Windows Explorer's Folder view. In Cocoa I think it would be something like an NSOutlineView.

The tree itself isn't the bit I am trying to work out, but rather how to do the actions/bindings between the tree view frame and the view/ edit frame, how to handle the backtracking cache (assuming you use a frameset), etc.

Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Hi,

I have been trying to determine how one would use WO to implement a dynamic, data driven, treeview style navigation for a web application (think EOModeler's tree view). Particularly how best to "bind" values and actions between the tree view and the other "frames" in the layout.

I have done this using ASP, framesets and javascript many moons ago, but the design approach I used for that isn't really congruent with how you would use WO (for good reason).

If some kind sole who has tackled this before could point me in the right direction of how this should be done the "WebObject way" it would be much appreciated.
