WWDC Blues...
WWDC Blues...

i have to say that i, as one of the many dedicated webobjects
developers who couldn't attend WWDC this year, am pretty pissed now
that there is a some big secret that half of the community know
about, and half of us don't.
i spend my life developing WO applications, and if apple have some
dirty great secret about the future of my life, then i want to know
about it now - not in 2 weeks when apple marketing can be arsed to
let the rest of us know where the future of the product that we base
our lives on is destined.
i'm sorry to be depressing - i really do hope that everyone that is a
the wwdc is having a great time - but the "it's good/it's bad (but
we're under NDA)" stuff coming our of the conference is really
upsetting me.
other vendors may not be able to deliver products on time, but at
least they are able (and willing) to give developers some guidance on
future product direction. This secretive crap may well be cut out for
the consumer market (yeah - i understand when they don't want to leak
the details of the next ipod), but for us core enterprise developers
this kind of crap just sucks.
there is little wonder why i am permanently under pressure to switch
to a "serious j2ee vendor"....
