Is it possible to create a display group and point it to an array and not a enterprise entity?

there is, if you're thinking of an array that contains EOs: <http:// developer.apple.com/documentation/webobjects/Reference/API/com/ webobjects/eocontrol/EOArrayDataSource.html>

(...otherwise you'd probably have to wrap whatever you intend to wire up in an NSDictionary first and put that in an array?)
