Harte-Hanks Shoppers, Inc., locaated in Brea, California, is the
publisher of the PennySaver and The Flyer. We are looking for highly
motivated Application Programmer/Analysts to join a growing team
building the next generation of mission critical, prepress workflow
and production systems. The team is focused on delivering systems
that improve productivity and quality in all prepress functions. This
is an opportunity for developers with demonstrated experience in
creating applications in a multi-tier, distributed environment. The
ideal candidate is a problem-solver and team player.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, EE, or relevant
industry experience required. Candidate should have at least 5 years
of professional experience developing new applications and
maintaining existing code.
Other requirements include strong experience in object-oriented
programming (Java, C++, Objective-C), server-side web application
development (WebObjects), front-end web development (JavaScript,
HTML, AJAX), SQL database skills, data interchange (XML, SOAP), or
native Mac OS X application development (Cocoa, Carbon). Candidates
should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Job responsibilities will include:
* Design and development of new/improved functionality for prepress
systems.
* Develop creative solutions and alternatives for problems that touch
our users.
Required Experience:
* BSCS or equivalent experience
* 5 years experience in a professional, programming position
Preferred Experience:
* Experience with Java and WebObjects and/or
* Experience with Objective-C and Cocoa
* Experience with relational database systems and data modeling
* Experience with Mac OS X development tools is a plus
* Familitarity with version control systems such as CVS or Subversion
* Proven ability working with a fast-paced development team
* Strong applied software methodology, process and quality skills
* Object-oriented analysis and design experience
* Experience developing applications used by creative professionals
* Knowledge of imaging systems, Postscript, PDF and OPI
* Web and Macintosh application user interface design
