Hello,
We will work to assist the community
where technical assistance or specifications are needed and have
already been working with several open source projects. This will
become public soon.
WOCOM...
I updated the page with the statement from Apple:
http://www.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOCOM/WebObjects+and+Apple+IT+Directions
I assume Apple will again make these later details public through the
wo-announce and this list once this becomes public (?)
We are making these changes with the clear goal of boosting
WebObjects, allocating resources to improve the platform at a more
rapid pace, and to better react to your needs.
A question on "react to your needs" to people at Apple reading this:
- What is the best way to send *general* feedback to Apple about
WebObjects ? Is it still webobjects.apple.com ?
- About tools. I guess most communication will be directly between
developers or relevant tool mailing lists such as WOLips. Will there
additional new communication channels for tool questions / feedback
set up ?
PS: Regarding general Feedback to Apple, I started collecting stuff
from the list here...please post stuff as it tends to get forgotten in
mail archives:
http://www.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOCOM/Feedback+to+Apple
(Not that I assume that Christmas is coming and Apple will grant these
wishes. I just tried to collect reasonable feedback and Apple might
have a look at the page and once can send the collected ideas to
Apple from time to time )
Shall I say: thank you?
Me too.
I will save the *big* thank for that next release of the WO runtime :)
Marc
