Hi Ute,

have a look at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Programming:WebObjects/EOF/Using_EOF/Caching_and_Freshness (Yes, I just posted it before Mike Schrag could do so :-) This will give you some insights how to treat this very common kind of problem.
