Hi, Randall,
I think the delay is being caused by your computer getting confused
by being addressed with a hostname that doesn't match a reverse DNS
lookup.
If your browser page appears with a URL in the address text box of
the form:
http://<YourComputerName>.local/cgi-bin/WebObjects/<YourAppName>.woa
and then sits there for about a minute, instead of waiting, try
replacing that URL immediately with one that looks like this:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/WebObjects/<YourAppName>.woa
and hit the send key again. If the response is nearly immediate, then
that's the cause of your delay.
