this couldn't be the same thing which occurred when 10.4.3 was released could it? Does http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html? artnum=302936 help?

If not, I've seen on some sites that the location of mysql.sock has changed, à la http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php? story=20060111113313511

either way it's a MySQL issue not a WO one ;-)
