I have few questions on WebObjects and Ajax:
1. Are there Ajax Frameworks available in WebObjects?

We have one internally, based on JSonRPC. I've wrapped our AJAX implementation in a little demo project (see attachement).
I know WOnder has an ajax component available as well.

2. Which WebObjects applications can be ported to Ajax+WebObjects?

Any one, sky's the limit !
I guess it only depend on your will to spend time desiging ajax UI versus spending time desinging normal html UI. If your background is XHTML / DHTML you may be more willing to develop an full feature (ajax / dhtml / ...) UI.

3. Is it a good time to move on to Ajax for sites based on WO? I mean the advantages and disadvantages.

We currently use it for minor things, nothing google-like for me. In my case, the slow adoption of ajax is not based on WO, but more based on my lack of knowledge for the various javascript implementation (IE / NetScape / Safari / other) combined with my lack of knowledge of what can be done with DHTML.

I tried to start building few fancy desktop like ajax components, but I was soon stopped by the way IE handle events. At that points, I was more inclined to use an already made javascript library for javascript event handling (not willing to build my own) to encapsulate common capabilities to most browsers. I have not choosed one javascript library yet (look at http://prototype.conio.net for an interesting one). To be useful, wo-ajax-components would need to be interoperable each other on the same page, to achieve that, I would need a common event handler library. That's part of why I haven't done much yet.

Meanwhile there is something you can play with :

Enjoy !
