I don't have a problem with the $20.. The issue is that most places
want to have something up front. I'm willing to foot the required
bill, and then it'll be up to me to collect. At the going numbers, we
are likely looking at a single tab requirement for the party and some
up front food ordered. If the typical 20% left w/o paying holds, at
$20 a person, I maybe stiffed at $240 plus auto 20% gratuity or just
shy of $300 :( Of course, other poor souls will take pity on me and
make the dent less. I'll do what ever is necessary to make this happen
since I'm local, but I'm still looking for the most ideal situation
where the place we go to is expecting the random pub crowd and not the
typical organized group. We, WO-Developers, organized? Maybe only when
we complain to Apple :)

The Thirsty Bear is a great place and for goodness sake, $20? Take
the train from SFO to the City and you can save 20. :). $20 sounds
like a bargain to me, not a show stopper. Unless I missed something
and there's going to be some need for 100 singles (in which, case I'm
still going) ;)
As far as I'm concerned, it's a chance to meet people and talk. I'm
not a huge drinker and I don't need wifi but food is always welcome
and the Thirsty Bear has great food and it's a cool place.
My customer is going to be there too so I'll be sure she signs up but
I'm putting in a vote for the Thirsty Bear.
