Hi!

Sorry... tea only! :P I'm starting to wonder if I'll be accepted at the meet-up at all... ;)

Geez, Miguel, I'm really sorry! I didn't realize that you were consumption challenged. It's OK, though, I hear that many people have that condition congenitally. I'll try to keep my comments on the list more politically correct from here on.

I had much the same problem through most of my adolescence, but I was healed in college and the cheeze and cracker diet of old late night mainframe programming wiped out any remaining vestiges of the problem by regularly pushing me into the local bar to extinguish that foul cheese & cracker taste.

I'm sure you'll have a good time with the group. It's been my experience that WO people aren't particular except in their technology choices. Why, heck, I'd even drink to that! :-)

I'm still hoping to put the trip together myself and you can bash me personally for the above comments. But only if you join us that night!

Regards,
Jerry

Do you at least drink coffee?

Hi!

Just confirming, but... I suppose all those places have non- alcoholic drinks and food! I don't drink alcohol, but I'm always ready to eat some tasty stuff and drink fruit juices! :)

  (Yes, I don't drink, and I wash... I'm not a real geek! ;) )

Dully noted, but after Chucks comment, the open mic thing sounds more

However, I looked into Thirsty Bear. Because of our size we can
comfortably get the billiard room for free, but the catch is the
minimal payment stuff:

<Snip>
Food and Beverage Minimums: Food minimum requirement is $20.00+ + per
person. We recommend a minimum of $20.00++ per person for an appetizer
reception or lunch and $30.00++ to $50.00++ minimum for dinner.
Beverage requirements and options are outlined on the attached
beverage information sheet. All menu selections must be made one week
prior to the event date. Final guest count must be made three
business days prior to the date of the event.
</Snip>

I wonder if we can do much less per person (~$15) for ~50-60 people,
if its drinks and perhaps one ordered appetizer. The idea being people
are throwing $10 to at least one drink, and $5 up front no matter what
for the appetizer.

I'll call them.
