I've switched an application which does about 40k page views per day from an old G4 from component actions to direct actions and in fact it got a little bit slower because I couldn't cache stuff in the session that I normally get from the database once per visit.


The performance dropped from about 100ms average transaction time in Monitor to about 130ms average transaction time. Just to give you a feeling for that.
