Subject: OFF TOPIC: WebObjects developer short-term contract position available for work on open source project
Hello everyone,
I apologize for posting an off-topic message to the list, but I wanted to let anyone who might be interested know that there is a contract position being funded by the New Media Consortium sponsoring some critical path bug fixes and multi-platform installation package creation for 'Pachyderm', an open source project for which I am a developer (the application can be found @
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pachyderm). Here is the job listing as it's going out to Craig's List et al:
---------------------------------------------------
WebObjects Programmer (Contract Work)
We are seeking an exceptional WebObjects programmer with excellent Java skills to work on a development project for open-source software that already has an enthusiastic user base. The product is an easy-to-use multimedia authoring tool that runs in a web browser and allows non-techincal people to create interactive Flash presentations as easily as filling out web forms. It is already in release and we are adding and improving features.
What you need for this position:
• Exceptional WebObjects and Java programming skills
• Experience with Java threads
• Cooperative, can-do attitude
• Clear communication skills
Experience with Windows is a plus, but is not required. Experience with databases is preferred.
This is a temporary, full-time contract position, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately. You will be working from your own location and you must have your own equipment (computer, etc). Minimal travel is required (one-week orientation, possible occasional meetings). If interested, please contact Rachel Smith (email@hidden) with your qualifications and references.
Rachel S. Smith
Director, Special Projects and Publications
The New Media Consortium
---------------------------------------------------
If you're interested, contact Rachel. If you'd like to know more about the project, you can talk to either of us, and you can check out the code at Sourceforge.
