HI all,
Having recently upgraded our mySQL server version from 4.1.18 to
4.1.19, I had some problems and had to revert to the 3.0.x driver.
Connections work fine now, but I have one other problem. It appears
to be related to character sets and encoding but I'm just not sure
where to find the problem. Basically the data is still stored
correctly in the database but it does not display correctly on the
page. For example the 'r' registered trademark symbol. All of these
unusual symbols appear as '?' on the pages. I have changed the
EOModel to apply the 'C' value type to BLOBs that are retrieved from
the database and perhaps this has something to do with it. However
having changed that back, it does not appear to have helped. It
strikes me as strange that this seems to have happened since we
upgraded the server (as it was a minor upgrade) but I just wondered
if anyone had any suggestions on where I can apply the character
encoding so that it displays correctly.
Kind regards,
David.
