I appreciate. i had to verify the form and intantiate an image object in the constructor, and now it's working.

Do a:
public WOComponent addToDB() {
System.out.println(aFileContents.length());
...

If you got 0 or null exception, verify the following:

- Form enctype.
- Layout of form, multi submit for example.
