I don't think there is any. Behind the scenes there is a limited
(uh, one) way to achieve the goal AFAIK. I've always used the
EOUtilities method and I suspect that is the reason for this method's
existence in EOUtilities: it provides a method name orthogonal to the
other method names in EOUtilities to perform this function.
