Ok There is something really bizarre and I would really like some statement from Apple.

Is there any code change in the run time libraries installed with XCode 2.3? I have not done a full investigation but the jared frameworks in /Library/WebObjects/lib are different between 10.4.6 Server and the ones after the install of XCode 2.3. So I am a bit suspicious.

We really need some consistency in the version in order to make quality testing. Check the files:
/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaWebObjects.framework/Resources/ version.plist

The version on MacOSX Server is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http:// www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>BuildVersion</key>
<string>4</string>
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>5.3.1</string>
<key>ProjectName</key>
<string>JavaWebObjects</string>
<key>SourceVersion</key>
<string>9530000</string>
</dict>
</plist>

The one after the XCode upgrade is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http:// www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>BuildVersion</key>
<string>18</string>
<key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
<string>5.3.1</string>
<key>ProjectName</key>
<string>JavaWebObjects</string>
<key>SourceVersion</key>
<string>9540000</string>
</dict>
</plist>
So the source versions are not the same between the development libraries and the run time libraries.

Yeah I read that and thought it was little wired. Its like a new version of 5.3.1 without a new version number.

Hi All,

Seems the next release of xCode is out. Looking over the release notes there doesn't seem to be anything specific for WO ( http:// developer.apple.com/releasenotes/DeveloperTools/Xcode/Xcode.html )

Do we have any early adopters on list who can say yay or nay in terms of WO Dev under this new version ?
