Wow, why such a change in timing? Sounds like you need to profile this application with Shark and see what's going on! I'd make a recording of a test case with -WORecordingPath and then use the playback tool to run that case while monitoring the application with Shark (Don't forget the -XrunShark argument!) Then repeat this cycle until the application is running acceptably: profile, analyze, modify code, repeat!
