Hi David,

There is a mailing list that is specifically for WOnder related discussion: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wonder-disc

What I do with the WOnder stuff is import all the projects into my Eclipse workspace from the CVS repository. I then synchronize the projects with CVS from time to time to get the most recent ones. I am almost positive that this is not the best way to do it. I think that there are others that run a script (for example) to keep the WOnder stuff up to date. At WOWODC we were told that WOnder is stable enough to use the daily build unless told otherwise (on the mailing list). Another approach that you can take is to install the frameworks into your /Library/Frameworks folder and link any projects that you download into your workspace to the frameworks (see the wiki tutorials on using Eclipse). I have doubts about the best way to do all this too, so I am glad that you asked.

As for a specific example of a WOnder project and getting it to run out of the box, I have posted a getting started tutorial for BugTracker on the wiki:
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WONDER/Getting+Started +with+BugTracker

Hopefully that will help you get started.

I am moving this discussion over to the WOnder list as well.

Hi,

I try to install my first example of a Wonder project into Eclipse but can't finalize any of the installation.

I try to import/install different examples provided with Wonder as Bugtracker, D2WListexample, D2WInspectExample, AjaxExample or AjaxLookExample... But I can't have any one of them working. I got red X for everyone, with different reasons for each of them.

Can someone confirm to me that it's right to think these wonder examples as "out-of-box" (and therefore I have to see what's wrong in my current environment) or is it expected that there are things to do in the source files or in the propertie files to make them work?

I already achieve to create a WonderD2WApplication build on my own Mysql database and it works fine (except for the WebAssistant but I see that it is recommended to avoid it - which throw a new question: How can do the same customisation directly?).

Now I would like to study the other packages by building and running these examples (at least one !) so I can see it working.

For those who would reply with something like "Start by reading this book or this one", please don't: I've already ordered some but I have to wait between 8 and 12 weeks for their delivery and I can't afford to wait so long before starting learning...

David B.
