Fully Stand Alone WO

Greetings all and Happy New Year to some!

I thought this question to be a legitimate cross-post to both dev and deploy as the questions have clear ramifications for both. Please forgive me if I offend any list purity sensibilities.

I much prefer to use the wotaskd and javamonitor in certain situations, and am coming up on one of those situations, so my questions are:

* Is there (an easy | any) way to build a woa to run completely stand alone (under linux? Win?) without the WO install?

* Is there (an easy | any) way to use the apache adaptor, wotaskd, javamonitor, without the old installer?

and on the flip side:

* Are there simple instructions (like the nice getting started tutorial) for building stand alone WARs in Eclipse/WOLips?

	* Can you dev under WO 5.3 on Windows or Linux in Eclipse/WOLips?

I have seen other permutations to these questions, but not these specifically, so please lead me to the sources if you have them. I would surely appreciate it. I full realize I could be missing something simple.

My thanks to all for great information on all the lists, and my best hopes for peace and prosperity in the new year.

Regards,

------
Carlos
