Rapid turnaround?

When I start up my app in Eclipse, I get the following message:

[2007-07-15 13:52:03 MDT] <main> Cannot use rapid turnaround. Please start Xcode and open the project for this application.

What is rapid turnaround? For what it is worth, when I have Xcode open with this particular project, the message goes away, but I don't realize what additional benefits this provides.
