Youth For Understanding USA,
is a non-profit, international high school student exchange organization.
Currently we seek an experienced and goal-driven IT Director who will lead a
small team
responsible for all
network, telecommunications, and database operations for the organization. Key
technology management responsibilities: database applications
design, development and implementation, LAN, WAN and
Internet operations; telecommunications infrastructure and operations; data
center operations including servers, storage and backups; remote access; e-mail
and messaging systems.
Maintain
responsibility for technical leadership on systems architecture and software
engineering.
Knowledgeable in: Java and object-oriented design as well as
advanced software engineering concepts such as patterns; distributed and n-tier
application design, including object-relational mapping frameworks such as J2EE
or WebObjects; database systems (DB2 or Oracle), relational database design, SQL
and database normalization; experience in project management and using UML or
other system documentation methods; multiple operating systems such as Windows,
OS X, Linux, OS/400; understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, IPSEC
and VoIP.
This position provides leadership, mentoring and support to
the IT department and provides leadership, direction, and customer service for
the organization in meeting its IT goals and requirements. The
incumbent
must have excellent knowledge, experience, and vision in developing and
delivering an IT strategy and infrastructure; must have excellent communication
and interpersonal skills; be results-oriented; possess excellent leadership
qualities and previous supervisory experience. Incumbent must be flexible and
willing to respond to inquiries and emergencies outside of normal business
hours.
