I am so confused with this JavaMonitor and this particular application.
I have had JavaMonitor running on my browser all day personally
monitoring it.
Well eventually, JavaMonitor seems to die because of one instance
going awry. This
means that the number of sessions, transactions, then never update
and I get the red
message on top that says Failed to contact ....
I figured I would wait till this morning to see if it the instances
were restarted overnight.
Well lo and behold two of the instances did restart!? How, now, I
have no idea as the
javamonitor was unresponsive. Ok, great, now I can do a thread dump
on the one bad
instance and get to the bottom of this.
So I run, as per the wiki: sudo kill -QUIT pid(with the proper
number there).
Nothing. it won't kill the instance?! I can only now do a good old -9
to kill. I have yet
to do that. Meanwhile I looked at the log and there are no errors, no
locking issues,
nothing.. just a very clean log.
Yet the apps are still responding, including the one that didn't
restart.
Does anyone have any clue of what is going on here as I am now at a
loss to understand
what is going on.
Thanks
James Cicenia
