Isn't that supposed to do automatic locking/unlocking for you, or is there something I need to add?
Not by default. You have to add the Properties that define what locking behavior you want. I posted the settings I use a couple of weeks ago ... Search for that on the list, and also read the example Properties file inside of the ERExtensions source. It documents many of the important settings.
