I like the apple tools. I know WOLips and project WOnder exist
for eclipse but I do not like these tools much.
I agree with Kieran completely, but for people who just don't like
Eclipse/WOLips (compared to Xcode, specifically), what /exactly/ is
it that you don't like?
I don't like Eclipse.
Too many things are not straightforward enough.
For example, after four years using it, I still don't know how to use
drag and drop in the java editor!
When I accidentally close a tab, I am not capable to bring it back,
so I have to reset the perspective. All those little things are too
basic to be asked on a mailing list, and should not require to read
the documentation.
This IDE kinds of remind me everyday that I don't really master it.
And I don't like the way it tends to fill up the screen, or the way
it pretends to show everything simultaneously by adding views all
around. When I open NetBeans for example, I always think "what a
nicer UI". Maybe because it is more colorful? With bigger icons? But
this is more an overall feeling, and I think WOLips developers can do
a lot about it.
The biggest problem with WOLips is the "dual" compiler. One should
not have to fiddle with ant tasks to do WebObjects development, i think.
A WOLipsBuilder would be nice in Eclipse too (notice that I did not
talk about what you know).
Although I am getting used to edit html by hand. And thanks a lot for
the new html editor, and inline bindings. Those are really useful.
I would never go back to xCode of course. Compared to Eclipse/WOLips,
xCode is simply not an option.
