I start the two phase migration:
1)  10.4 server -> 10.5 with WO 5.3 WOA's

Your WO 5.3 apps may crash under WO 5.4 due to some API changes. If you really want to ensure that they run, you'll need to package all the WO 5.3 frameworks that each app needs inside the woa directory and then change the class path in MacOSClassPath.txt to point to the frameworks within your woa instead of in /System/Library/Frameworks or /Library/Frameworks. You could write build scripts that Xcode would run that would build a self-contained app, but unless you have lots of app projects, it's probably quicker to just build the self- contained apps manually.

2) WO 5.3 (XCode, WOBuilder, EOModeler), after the successful completion of 1 -> WO 5.4 (Eclipse, WOLips, EntityModeler)

I'm attempting this big jump as well. Jumping to Eclipse under Tiger/ WO 5.3 first and then moving the Eclipse projects to Leopard/WO 5.4 would probably have been somewhat easier since fewer changes would occur with each step. I may end up building self-contained WO 5.4 apps to run under Tiger Server until our deployment servers are updated to Leopard Server. I *think* that this should work fine.

Aloha,
Art
