The default location has been changed. If you look at leopard install:

# To change the logging options, read the following comments:
# The option name is "WebObjectsLog" and the first value indicates the path of the log file.
# The second value indicates the log level. There are five, in decreasing informational order:
# "Debug", "Info", "Warn", "Error", "User"
#
# Note: To enable logging, touch '/tmp/logWebObjects' as the administrator user (usually root).
#
# The following line is the default:
# WebObjectsLog /Library/WebObjects/Logs/WebObjects.log Debug

This is for security purpose and also the trigger is only read at apache startup so you need to reload apache if you want an output and of course remove the comment :).

Check the config file. Mine has:

macbook:~ ak$ grep Log /System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/ Apache2.2/apache.conf
# The option name is "WebObjectsLog" and the first value indicates the path of the log file.
WebObjectsLog /tmp/WebObjects.log Debug

Have you tried "sudo touch /tmp/logWebObjects"?

Yes, I've tried that - no output there. When I restart my whole box, it's more or less gone until I have to restart the httpd because of network changes (different Network at home and in the company).
