You get a $50,000 application server for $0. Actually $500,
development machine included.
For $500 a year you get to peek at beta versions. As a bonus these
$500 give you access to a wide variety of resources including
technical support.
Do $50,000 application server vendors let you have a look at betas?
Pierre.

In other words, WebObjects is not free - it's 499 USD per year, for
which Apple will give you some vague idea of what's going on with
the next bi-annual dot release of WO, together with a whole pile of
Mac OS crap that you're not particularly interested in.
Oh, and don't forget - you'll also get the very latest shiny
version of X-code to develop your WO apps with. Bargain! Where's my
wallet ? .....
