With WO 5.4 the syntax should be:

<wo:string value="[amount]" numberformat="$#,##0" />

By default the dynamic binding use [] and not $.
So how do you escape the dynamic binding prefix in 5.4 if you want to show it in the string?  For instance, if you actually want the string "[amount]" to appear, what does the binding look like?
