And for those of you at WWDC, you already heard my rant on this one.
The fine print is that this is for Intel 64-bit only. Throw out your
first gen macbooks, throw out the PPCs and G5s (you have already,
right?). I thought it was stupid of them to announce 64-bit only intel
support when the then shipping product line at announcement was still
heavily 32-bit only. Lovely, that.
A lot of people are having a real hard time with this one. The Apple
Java forums are a going to be lit up tonight with flames! I can't,
for the life of me, come up with even a single remotely logical reason
for this that doesn't make Apple look like they've lost their
collective minds.
It's beginning to sound like the conspiracy nuts are right in thinking
that someone at Apple wants to discourage Java development.
