Coming from a traditional full request-response app development with
minimal very basic javascript, I have found that the following
fundamental learning materials are useful to help better understand
the mind-boggling munging and manipulation being done by the Ajax
Dynamic Elements and WOComponents...... for which Anjo Krank, Mike
Schrag et al deserve credit to the extreme ......
Watch all the Douglas Crockford Javascript videos at http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/theater/
and also available as podcasts in iTunes YUI Theater podcast. The
web page has the PowerPoint slides to accompany the video
presentations too though. .....
The primary ones to watch, and in this order is the "Javascript
Trilogy" series, each of the items below has a few videos of about 30
minutes each ......
Crockford - Javascript Language (4 videos)
Crockford - DOM Inconvenient API (3 videos)
Crockford - Advanced Javascript (3 videos)
Then after that review the stuff on the prototype website at:
http://www.prototypejs.org/learn
Then also, review scriptaculous docs at:
http://script.aculo.us/
You can also benefit from studying the David O'Flanagan huge book
"JavaScript: The Definitive Guide", although it is heavy going if you
are reading from cover to cover.
I just order the Crockford book "Javascript - The Good parts"
http://javascript.crockford.com/
If anyone else has suggestions for solid Ajax fundamentals that can be
digested easily please reply to the thread. ......... O'Flanagan book
is a bit dry to digest and requires Guinness or something similar at
certain stages of the book to make it easier to digest ;-)

I went through the podcast example for using ajax in my webobjects
project. Are there any other examples or tutorials out there.
I would love to learn more.
