There is a "Preview (Experimental)" tab at the bottom of the
component editor, but if you are doing more modern CSS-based HTML
layout, then WOBuilder didn't help you there either - It actually
kinda stood in the way.
This should be Experimental in all caps for Preview tab ... It's
pretty lame.
Now, graphical table editing, that was pretty killer.
I actually agree on this one ... I do have plans to do something about
this in CE . I'm actually thinking doing something like Apple's wiki
editor does for table editing.
But now my tables are much simpler that I'm using CSS for layout,
which makes the table-editing less important that it used to be.
Also agree :)
I guess that's probably the best way to look at WOLips vs Xcode/
WOBuilder; WOLips is built to help you, and in some cases, force you
to, code the way you should be coding for modern web-apps where
WOBuilder let you get away with a lot of stuff that would likely
hurt you in the long run, even if it were simpler up front.
Well ......... I don't know if I would be this generous :) WOLips
doesn't have a nice graphical HTML editor because it's really hard to
make one that works well (and in particular because we're not dealing
with a cocoa app, it's tricky to integrate these tools nicely
together). That said, for the things we DO support, we try to make
them as efficient and productive as possible within the interface
constraint we currently have.
