It can, but it might be a bit more work.

I have some pageConfigurations here that handle POJOs (arrays of
dictionaries) and it works.

For me, it was a bit of a fight to get it working in the first place but
after that it was just fine. You might have to define the pageConfiguration
to use by a rule if I remember that correctly. And my POJOs all implement
key-value-coding.
