Perhaps we can replace J2EE by more specific choices, for example :

- J2EE (WebSphere, WebLog, Oracle Application Server, ...)
- J2EE (Struts, Spring, ...)

And we can also ask if the organization was using something else (forward migration) before starting using WO?

For SOA, we can ask if people are using WO for consuming or providing SOA services, just like when we ask if people consume and provide Web Services, but personally I think SOA and Web Services should be in the same category.

Forget the "one last thing". It's already there.

On the second reading I found that the first issue is also covered (the questionnaire is soooo long ;-)). Perhaps Spring should be added.

One interesting thing could be, if there is a movement of developers/companies with J2EE/Spring/OtherHypeFrameworks to WebObjects or vice versa. There is a question of programming background, but perhaps it is interesting which Frameworks were used before or if there is a settlement to other technologies...

Another question could be: Who uses WebObjects in SOA environments? (and perhaps let them specify the used runtime environment).

And one last thing: What ist the deployment technology? Traditional wotaskd, SSDD/Tomcat, SSDD/jBoss, SSDD/WebSphere or whatever.

Hello everyone,

Before we move to 2009, it's surveys time! This year, we will have two surveys : one is for organizations, the other is for developers. So the first survey should be answered by only one member of your organization, the other survey is for anyone who develops with WebObjects. If you are a freelancer,one-man shop, you should answer surveys.

You can get a preview of the surveys here :

If you have any suggestions to make, please do so before next Monday (2008/12/15).
