AjaxInPlaceEditor bug (or lousy feature)

  • Subject: AjaxInPlaceEditor bug (or lousy feature)

The ajaxinplace editor is super cool, and real easy to use... until you need to handle null or empty values. First, I am not on the very latest code; I believe I have a build from early November. However, if I run the AjaxExample project, select the ajaxinplaceeditor demo, click on the "Simple in place editor", delete the characters there, then press OK... poof! There is no input area!

On my own I experimented with the "click to edit" and "Value when empty" settings and had extremely inconsistent results...

Am I missing something obvious?
