Hello to all, I need some help because I'm a newbie on WO, Java and
Eclipse+WOLips
My configuration:
- fresh clean install of Mac OS X 10.5 updated to 10.5.1
- apple developer tools with optional WO 5.4
- Eclipse Version: 3.3.1.1 Build id: M20071023-1652
- WOLips nightly 3.3.4788 installed following
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Install+WOLips+with+Eclipse+Update+Manager
- workaround for Leopard described at
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=197094
- patched wobuild.properties for Leopard like at
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Troubleshooting+Problems+Building+and+Running
Then if I follow these steps:
1- Create a new WO Application
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Create+a+new+WO+Application
2- Edit a WO Component
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Edit+a+WO+Component
3- Run or Debug a WO Application
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Run+or+Debug+a+WO+Application
the command "Run As>WOApplication" give me a windows (attached) named
"Select Java Application" with a double * on the default line and a
long list at "Matching items" and I can see the sample code build and
run ONLY if I select the matching items: "WOApplication -
com.webobjects.appserver" but this step is not anywhere mentioned. Is
a behavior generated by my configuration or normal thing for daily
Eclipse+WOLips coder?
But for a beginner like me a best gym are the WO sample provided from
Apple then I try to ...
- Run the examples following:
http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WO/WO+5.4+Getting+Started#WO5.4GettingStarted-Runningtheexamples
Again, the command "Run As>WOApplication" for the (very basic)
helloworld example give me the windows named "Select Java Application"
but if I select "Application - webobjectexamples.helloworld" I have
error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to find framework named
"HelloWorld" on my Safari.
Tha same occurs for every example project on my iMac but nothing like
this is for Pascal Robert in the wiki or podcast ...
In effects the eclipse console report on build:
...
[2008-2-10 11:28:35 CET] <main> Application project found: Will locate
resources in '/Users/luigi/workspace/HelloWorld' rather than
'/Users/luigi/workspace/HelloWorld/build/HelloWorld.woa'
...
What go wronge for me ? And why?
Thanks in advance for help
Luigi Giannini
