Hi Darren,
Project Builder was the old tool set for developing WO applications,
and some of the error messages still refer to it. Unfortunately, I
believe the D2W Assistant is horribly broken. I don't do D2W, but I
remember this conversation coming up in the past.
The only way to get the same effect is to edit the user.d2wmodel file
manually using either a text editor or the "Rule Editior" built into
Eclipse.
Also, the consensus (of much better minds than mine) is that in order
to do D2W you really need to be using Project Wonder. WebObjects' out-
of-the-box D2W is asking for trouble.
There is a tutorial here: http://wiki.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WO/Direct-To-Web
but I don't know how out-of-date it is.
There's not a lot of people out there doing D2W, but it is being used
and the ones using it are usually doing some really cool stuff with it!
Welcome to WO! It's a lot of fun.

Hello. I am new to WebObjects and I would like to know what the
current preferred way to develop WebObjects Applications on Mac OS X
Leopard (10.5.4).
I tried Eclipse but Direct to Web Applications don't work properly.
I get this warning when attempting to run:
***** Warning: The DirectToWeb WebAssistant will not be able to
modify your DirectToWeb resources. You must have your application
project opened in Project Builder to save changes using the
WebAssistant.
I have done a Spotlight search for Project Builder, and nothing was
returned. How can I fix this? I only have one Mac, and it runs
Leopard.
