Oops. I meant to say:

My AjaxLink which seems equivalent to the AjaxUpdateLink in the ERX framework has an inputContainerID binding in addition to the action and updateContainerID bindings.

I also noticed that your AjaxUpdateLink has an elementName binding. My AjaxLink always generates the a link using the <a> tag. :-)
