Hi all,
The following is not a question, just some info, for those interested.
A while ago there was a discussion (the "Reporting Java Client EC
save exceptions" thread) in which I claimed that if one wants to
intercept exceptions occurring in the server side editing context
that is the in-between for the client and the database context, one
should add an EC delegate to the EODistributionContext's editing
context, and not to the Session's... This is only marginally correct,
I did some testing, and it turns out that by default the two EC's are
the same instance. When an EODistributionContext gets instantiated,
it uses the Session's context (there is a one EODistributionContext
per session) as it's own. Anyway, apologies for any confusion.
I guess that having a single EC used at two different places can be
avoided (and in my opinion should, if one actually uses the Session's
context separately from the JC functionality) by setting another EC
as the Session's default.
Next, John had some trouble with adding an EC delegate to the
Session's / EODistributionContext's EC. I did not have that problem,
and would be happy to look further into the matter.
And finally, yes, I know every single red-eyed AJAX programmer will
be delighted to have read this! :)
