I think you are asking for trouble. Because you are most likely also
going to be using different versions of Java too. I think you are
going to end up spending too much time reviewing docs to know what is
new and what isn't, if the API or functionality has changed, if you
can or can 't use a certain function. This is doubly so if you use
Wonder.
If you've got a spare week of time to kill converting and doing tons
of testing to see if your app can do it, then I'd spend the time
getting the production application running on 5.4.2 rather than
spending it trying to make 5.2 run a 5.4 app.
In the end you are expending a bunch of effort up front _and_ ongoing
to keep the production app on 5.2 and get nothing of value to show for
it. If you go to 5.4 then you can actually use the new functionality
and do some really cool new things instead of wasting time trying to
figure out how to avoid new features.

Hello -
I was wondering... if I don't use anything new in 5.4 while
developing for my deployed 5.2.4 will I encounter any problems?
I would like to start with 5.4 and beyond, but really like to lag
releases in my production apps.
So, can I do this?
Thanks
